So many good bands from my hometown. Shocking Blue, Golden Earring(s), Q65 and in present time: Direct, Son Mieux, Gold Band and singer Anouk. And in nearby city Voorburg Earth and Fire with one of the best singers Jerney Kaagman. Den Haag rocks

Hocus pocus by focus !

I was living in India as an American exchange student in the summer of 1970. My host brother and some of his friends took me from Bombay to Bangalore….a 37 hour car trip. Their car had a”turntable” that could play 45 singles. We listened to this song at least 3,538 times. I still love it. Banana Rama’s version paled.

I’ve been listening to this band and Mariska’s solo stuff lately. They had so many good songs., I like Mariska’s voice and she was very pretty. Must have been her gypsy features.

I have the single. Never knew what the lead singer looked like till decades later.

Never heard of the term Nederbeat but yes they made some good music, as did Golden Earring ( did a lot more than just Radar Love). For me, Earth & Fire were probably my favourite. Atlantis was a brilliant prog concept album.

Loved I’m your Venus

Originally on keyboard. She wasn’t out front untill “Venus”. There are two mixes. One puts the piano part dominant. The other buries the keys.

Those videos never show the keyboard / player. For example “Red Rubber Ball”. The keyboard made that song and doesn’t show in the video at all.
