The United States will run Venezuela following the capture of President Nicolas Maduro Saturday, President Donald Trump said during a press conference Saturday. |
“We’re going to run the country until such time that we can do a safe, proper, and judicious transition,” Trump explained. |
He said that they were ready to do a larger attack if needed but now thinks it won’t be necessary. |
“We’re prepared to do a second wave a much bigger wave,” he said, noting that following the success of the operation the nation “probably won’t need to.” |
Further details on how the U.S. will “run” the country have not yet been detailed. |
Trump said the U.S. will “make the people of Venezuela rich, independent and safe.” |
“They suffered so much was taken from them they’re not going to suffer anymore,” he said. |
