She is no ordinary KLM flight attendant. This is none other than the airline CEO herself, Marjan Rintel. Spotted serving passengers aboard a flight from Los Angeles to Amsterdam, this hands-on leader is in her inaugural year as the CEO. Passenger David Elliot chanced upon her during the flight and shared her picture in the Facebook Group “Flying Blue Platinum.”
Indeed, it’s not an unusual sight to see airline CEOs and Presidents swapping their corporate suits for operational roles. Ricky Isla, AirAsia Philippines CEO, once experienced the work of a ramp agent. Similarly, Philippine Airlines President Capt. Stanley Ng donned his pilot 4-bar epaulets for a commercial flight from Manila to Perth, marking the airline’s inaugural flight to that city.
