SISTER PHRODITE, DAUGHTER OF APRODITE AND HERMES…This 3rd-century statue, called “Hermaphrodite” was found in the early 1700s near Rome, Monteporzio, in an area where, according to studies, the village of Lucio Vero was to be found. She was considered dirty and for decades she was locked in a closet, which is why she was also known as the “Closet Hermaphrodite.”Even when she arrived in France she had the same luck until, centuries later, she was placed in the same room as a sleeping hermaphrodite at The Louvre.
