Don’t be angry, bro.
I unapologetically love this performance, even though I’ve only seen a couple brief clips.
It took an Olympics that was already teetering on unwatchable lunacy, lined it up against a wall, and delivered the coup de grâce.
To the extent that anyone remembers the 2024 Olympics in years to come, it will always be, “wasn’t that the year when the Algerian dude beat up all the women and the Aussie gender-studies prof flopped around on the floor for 5 minutes?”
In sum, the Aussie dancer ensures that Paris 2024 will be remembered as the freak show that it was. For that I am grateful.
