Mr. Sealesatsilentlyonthisdiscovery for 16 years (perhapsknowinghewouldbeblackballedbyhisEuropeanpeersifheexposedthisinformation) anditwasonlyafterhediedin a tragiccaraccidentthatoneofhisassistantsbroughtthisinformationforwardin 1979 anditfirst hit intheNew York Times. ManypopulationscurrentlyinWestAfricaliketheDogon, Wolof, Bambara, Mande’ Yoruba, Bameleke’ andAkanhavehistoricalstoriesoftheirancestorsmigrationoutofthenilevalleyandintowest, central andsouthernAfricaduring a periodofchaoswiththeGreek, Roman, andArab (etc.) invasionsover a periodof 1500 years (therewere 6 major migrations).
