Sentence delivered by an American judge.
A 15-year-old boy was caught stealing from an American store. In an attempt to escape, the boy also accidentally flipped the shelf.
After hearing the case, the judge asked the boy:
Did you really steal something? Bread, cheese and flipped the shelf by running away?
The boy replied:
– Yes, I am.
Judge:
Why did you steal it?
The boy said:
– I needed this.
Judge:
Couldn’t you buy instead of steal?
Boy:
– I didn’t have the money.
Judge:
– You could have asked your parents for money.
Boyfriend:
– I only have a mother who is sick and has no job. Stole bread and cheese for her.
Judge:
– You don’t do anything, do you have a job?
Boyfriend:
– Worked at a car wash. Took a day off to help mom so they kicked me out.
The judge after finishing the conversation with the boy gave the sentence:
– Stealing, especially stealing bread, is a very shameful crime. And here we are all responsible for this crime. Today everyone in this room is responsible for this theft. So I’m finishing up and I’m fining everyone here $ 10 Nobody leaves the room until they pay $ 10
The judge took a $ 10 bill out of his pocket, pulled out a pen and started writing:
– Additionally, I punished the store owner for calling the police and putting a hungry boy in her hands. If the fine is not paid within an hour, the store will be closed.
The judge apologized to the boy and handed him all the money he collected.
After listening to the verdict, people in the room had tears in their eyes.
I wonder if our society, our system, our system, our court would be able to deliver such a sentence?
The judge added:
– If someone gets caught stealing bread, all people in this community and in the country should be ashamed of themselves!
