Now, they knew that Israel would never attack the storage facilities where the Ammonium Nitrate was stored in Beirut because it would clearly decimate an entire population, too many innocent deaths, literally tens of thousands of people dead. So the gamble was that they would use this hesitation on the part of Israel to hide missiles and other weapons caches next to or near to the Ammonium Nitrate.
What they didn’t bet on was the precision of the strike, and the precise timing…. the fuel was exploded first, this lessened the destructive power of the explosion, and the professionals somehow were able to exact the timing that the dissipating fuel would draw the explosion mostly upward probably from the cavitation. Note the change in colour the smoke.
It is looking more and more like a pre-emptive strike on a weapons cache which the Iranians provided and the Hizbullah were hiding.
