património dos Açores à venda????

S.O.S. Açores shared a post.

“Maria Eugenia” is for sale.
“Maria Eugenia” is one of the last living pieces of Azorean naval architecture. It was built in the Santo Amaro shipyards, on the island of Pico, by Master Builder Manuel Bento, in the early decades of the last century, based on a design by Manuel Inácio Nunes (who at the time had already emigrated to California) by request of a ship-owner from Graciosa Island.
Like others built in the shipyards of Santo Amaro do Pico at that time, this boat represented the coming together of the famous art of the builders of that island with the experience gained by the first Azorean emigrants in California, who were able to understand and develop the techniques and use them in their homeland.
“Maria Eugenia” sailed from then (about 1920) until the end of the 1980s.
The hull was completely restored in Santo Amaro do Pico by Mestre José Adriano, which was completed in 2011, with the purpose of transforming her into a school boat, a project now abandoned.
She can be visited in Santo Amaro at Mestre José Adriano’s shipyard.
Proposals are welcome.
