Restinpeace, reggae legend Jimmy Cliff

Sad news! The legendary Jamaican ska, rocksteady, reggae & soul vocalist & musician Jimmy Cliff has died aged 81. He was best known for his starring role in the iconic 1972 movie “The Harder They Come”. Both the film & its superb soundtrack (which featured Cliff singing the classics “You Can Get It If You Really Want”, “Many Rivers To Cross” & “The Harder They Come”) were massively influential in popularising reggae around the world. Jimmy Cliff also scored 2 UK Top 10 chart hits with the awesome tracks “Wonderful World Beautiful People” & “Wild World”, which reached number 6 & number & in 1969 & 1970 respectively.
RIP Jimmy. Thanks for the incredible music & memories xxx

Very sorry to hear we’ve lost the wonderful man, dear friend, and Jamaican music legend Jimmy Cliff. We had the privilege of recording and performing with him over the years. He was the dearest of men and one of the great originators of reggae music. Prayers and condolences for his family and friends.
