War destroyed the old German Hanseatic city of Anklam. It was rebuilt with ugly gray boxes and the city lost its soul. Recently the ugly boxes were demolished – and in 2020 new buildings inspired by the old Anklam were constructed. The new quarters then won an architectural award for their qualities
