For the first time in 30 years, the Himalayas have become visible as pollution levels drop around India. 🗻🏔
Images of the snow-clad Dhauladhar range of Himalayas have been shared widely.
“We can see the snow-covered mountains clearly from our roofs. And not just that, stars are visible at night. I have never seen anything like this in recent times,” Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal said.
India, a country of nearly 1.4 billion people, has been under lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic since 22 March, which has resulted in a significant improvement in the country’s air quality.
